Alertness Vs. Carelessness

What does “watch thou and wake when others be asleep” mean? I think it means, be aware of what is happening while others are careless. Why do you need to be alert? Well, the consequences might be doing harmful things or being with the wrong company. If you keep your senses open, you can prevent harm from you and anybody! Isn’t alertness cool? Hmm... Not yet interesting? Maybe this would help, did you know that the ring necked pheasant is very alert, so it avoids danger and thrives and prosper because it is alert, now that is cool. You can do the same by, keeping your senses open, tell others of danger and stay away from unsafe places!
