The Estrada Administration
Joseph Ejercito Estrada won landslide the 1998 election. Estrada created the National Anti Poverty Commision. Its functions were focused on delivering the basic needs of the poor, his programs were consistent with his campaign slogan of "Erap Para sa Mahirap" Estrada only served for 3 years. When he was president he instituted the modernization of agriculture, infrastructure projects, the implementation of the Magna Carta for Science and Technology Personnel for the Government, and the creation of jobs and employment. The Estrada presidency was plauged with many different scandals. Because of the controversies facing Estrada, various protests were staged by the opposition who called for his resignation. There was a 4 day revolution against Estrada, he was forced to step down.
